Home refresh with IKEA A/W20 trend ‘Scandi Fusion'.
Hi there, well to say we’re all living in the strangest of times, would be a bit of an understatement, with all the events that are happening at the moment, i definitely think the emphasis on our homes being a space where we feel safe and secure is even more important to us all than ever before. With that in mind i just recently reassessed my entire home and how i was living in it. Ive embraced a much more paired-back and modern approach to my home, so imagine my delight when the lovely folks at IKEA asked if i’d like to showcase one of their A/W 20 Design trends
The trend i chose to echo my current design aesthetic was “Scandi Fusion”
“Bold, contrasting, practical and constructive, Scandi Fusion blends modern and traditional Scandi styles with minimalist influences, paying homage to classic design with a range of cultural influences bringing a bespoke look and feel.”
So all i had to do i was chose a few key items which i could use to recreate the trend here at home with small and simple updates throughout. Want to see the items i chose?, course you do!
So without further ado, lets start with the kitchen,
Perfect for this little corner in the kitchen the LISTERBY console table, neat little console in white stained oak providing valuable extra storage as well as looking super cute!

I teamed the LISTERBY console with the awesome RIGGAD table/work lamp, not only does this LED beauty look super stylish but it also has wireless charging, perfect drop spot for ones phone! Stylish and practical for the win!!
Lets move onto the hallway, this was such a quick and simple swap out, i have a great piece of art which i have always liked to be lit from above,as we all know IKEA has such an awesome range of range of lights, and i particularly like the SIMRISHAMN range, which comes in various different models, table lamps, pendants etc. I chose this simple globe wall light model.
The changes continue lets head on into the bedroom,
First on my list for the bedroom, my partner was in desperate need of a new bedside, we had a nest of Mango wood side tables which are lovely and worked ok, but truthfully with the Flokati rug, it was all getting a little bit too “Boho” which wasn’t the “vibe” i was looking for in here. So i opted for the LISTERBY side table, with its circular design and white oak finish it felt a lot more sophisticated and elegant.
Now everyone who knows me, knows how crazy i am for soft furnishings, so i wasn’t going to miss out on the opportunity to add to my ever expanding supply of cushions and cushion covers. I opted to use 3 of the KINNEN cushion covers, and an oblong HILLARED, and teamed with the gorgeously soft ODDRUN throw. All together i think they add a beautiful colour story to the bed without being overwhelming.
Now if we can head on through to the lounge, ive added a few more new pieces to continue the refresh. During the first lockdown we decided to completely redecorate, so it was out with the dark & moody maximalist vibe, and time to bring in with a much more paired back relaxed neutral feel. The same Off white paint was used throughout our whole home .
One of the things that was needed in the room refresh was a new coffee table, i had a large round KRAGSTA coffee table from IKEA from a previous collaboration with IKEA from a while back, which is still in such amazing condition, so i will be relocating that somewhere else here at home. So i went straight back to the LISTERBY range, (yes its definitely a firm fave of mine lol)
Also there was room to be able to add the sweetest new side table, from a brand new range from IKEA called ASPEROD. This range isall chic black metal with black glass and brass tipped feet, soo lovely!
And then finally to add even more gorgeous newness to the lounge we added a lovely new neutral rug to help ground the space...The rug we chose was the SPORUP which comes in 3 different colours and we opted for the Beige/natural, just to add some more texture and to help cosy up the space.
So as you can see, its definitely been all change here at chez Oliver, truthfully i’m absolutely made up with all the lovely new items that i have been lucky enough to be able to add. I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post, it was definitely one that i have soo enjoyed putting together for you!
till next time, stay safe and see you all soon.
